Career Insights Data Guide

Career Insights, powered by Gray DI, provides a realistic view of the labor market by connecting educational programs (CIPs) to evidence-based employment outcomes (SOCs).

Key Data Definitions:

  • Job Postings: A sample volume of unique online job advertisements from the past 12 months. The methodology uses a deduplication logic to show the realistic “share” of jobs available specifically to the program of study.
  • Average Salary: The weighted-average annual compensation from recent job postings for the portion of the occupations aligned with the specific degree.
  • Current Employed: The total number of people currently working in these roles. This count shows the portion of the occupations aligned with the specified degree.
  • Employment Growth: The average annual projected percentage change in workforce demand over the next 10 years (based on BLS projections, localized for the region by Gray DI) for the portion of the occupations aligned with the specified degree.
  • Occupations: A list of Standard Occupational Codes (SOC) ranked by current market demand and the portion of the occupations aligned with the specified degree.

Important Notes on Results:

  • Associates and Certificate Programs: Results are based on outcomes for both levels combined.
  • Bachelor’s Programs: Results are based on outcomes for Bachelor’s degree completers.
  • Transfer Programs: When a “Transfer” program is viewed, the widget displays Bachelor’s degree outcomes to show the potential of the completed educational journey.
