Regional Vice President of Business Development

Gray DI is a well-established, fast-growing, small business in a big market. We have 150 customers; our software revenue has increased by over 35% per year for several years and is profitable. We still have plenty of room to grow: there are approximately 3,500 colleges and universities in the US.

Responsibilities:

  • Nurture leads and sell PES to new accounts
    • Ensure timely response to sales qualified leads (within 24 hours)

      • Coordinate with SVPs who may have relationships with these accounts
      • Use customized emails that use our data to enhance your credibility
    • Ensure accounts are well-informed about our latest solutions and resources
    • Propose and close sales for additional software modules to current accounts
  • Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring market trends, competitor activities, and emerging academic programs
  • Partner with marketing to execute compelling regional marketing initiatives to promote our latest solutions and insights
  • Uphold company values, cultivating a culture of trust
  • Compile and present insightful reports on regional performance to senior management

Requirements:

  • Proven experience and results in a leadership role, ideally as a Regional Vice President of Sales or similar
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable discussing complex data, reports, and analyses
  • Proven track record of meeting sales and activity goals
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and key stakeholders, including Presidents, Provosts, and CFOs
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong team player, able to work well with people at all levels and in a variety of roles, including Customer Success, Software Development, and Company Leadership, including frequent interaction with the SVP Sales, VP Marketing, and CEO
  • Willingness and ability to travel to higher-education conferences and Gray Workshops:
    • The workshops and conferences occur all over the country
    • The workshop and conferences run for 2-3 days
    • The industry conferences usually include both days on weekends (our workshops are done during the week)

Preferred, but not required (we are willing to teach the right candidate):

  • In-depth knowledge of the higher education industry, higher education software buyers, and market dynamics
  • CRM experience, ideally Hubspot Sales
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Benefits:
