Highlights from August

Program Growth Driven by Trades, Logistics, and Health:
Spring 2026 certificate and associate program enrollments remained flat overall (less than one percent change year-over-year), but building and construction site management saw a 36 percent increase. At the bachelor’s level, enrollments dropped four percent overall, though logistics, materials, and supply chain management surged 19 percent. Graduate programs decreased three percent overall, but the fastest-growing programs included artificial intelligence and several health-related fields like dentistry, physician assistant, and nursing programs.

International Demand Normalizes with High India Volume:
International student page views dropped 10 percent year-over-year for July 2026, representing a stabilization compared to larger historical declines. India served as the top origin country for international interest by a wide margin. Growth was restricted to three main fields: data analytics/science, bioengineering/biomedical engineering, and civil engineering technology, with psychology remaining flat.

AI Dominates Academic Growth:
Artificial intelligence emerged as the fastest-growing graduate program, experiencing 51 percent year-over-year enrollment growth. On Coursera, learning demand was heavily concentrated in tech, data, and business, with “Introduction to Generative AI” ranking as the fastest-growing course.

Job Postings Soften While Software Engineering and Management Rise:
Total United States job postings declined by approximately three percent year-over-year in July 2026. Despite the market-wide dip, software developers and QA analysts posted a 56 percent year-over-year increase in job ads. Other expanding employment sectors included industrial engineers, physical therapists, heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers, and marketing managers.

Key Takeaway on Cybersecurity Bachelor’s Programs:
Cybersecurity scored in the 98th percentile nationally across combined demand metrics. The program benefits from a strong job market featuring 2.3 job postings per graduate and low underemployment at 25 percent (96th percentile). However, competition is high, with 254 nationwide institutions offering the program.
